Mom. Doing a few portraits for her new website. You’ve gotta check it out:

Coaching 101. I told her not to do this. What she’s like outside of the office.

She’s gonna kill me when she sees this. I did it for Zane! He made me!

When the day is over. Mid-June skies bursting with the evenings last rays.

Nature taking it back. Barn swallows occupy an “unoccupied” house.

Happy Fathers day!

I spent the evening with my dad, and while out driving we had come across mint fields. I love mint fields. They remind me of being a kid fresh out of school, on the stream, throwing flies at sleek mean cutthroat trout. Mint fields crept clear down along the banks. Each passing breeze would treat with the fragrance of mint. This was back when summers meant something special. Where you had no real cares, no appointments or deadlines. It was all about discovering yourself while being a kid. Sometimes I really miss those days, and at others it seems as if I’ve forgotten all about them.

Life is, well, whatever you make of it. For every up, there is a down. For every down, there is an up. Fortune goes with misfortune. Bad things follow good things. I’m no guru, but I’ve witnessed poverty goes along with wealth, and wealth along with poverty. Just make sure that in the mix, where the between of things may grow murky, that there’s always a good cup of java on hand. I’m serious. Or hot cocoa (Melissa).

I’m not sure where any of that came from.

365 Days Of Great Pics Photography, #221 with Tamrac’s Expedition 7X! Love it!

Hiked the Silver Creek Falls area this evening. I also tried out my new backpack. It holds most of my gear, and it’s freaking stout. It’s bomb proof. All alone, it’s light. All packed up, it’s like a tank. But…it has awesome lower back support, with plenty of breathing room (actual airflow channels, which are always nice). I had no issues while packing it on my seven mile hike. It held up without any hiccups.

 Tamrac’s Expedition 7x

It holds my backup body (7D), and just about all of my lenses. My 5D MarkIII with the 24-105mm attached would be a tight fit, but I’m guessing it could be done.

Anyhoo, I snapped a couple pics along the way. Hope you enjoy.

The insanely popular South Falls.

Pretty flowers. I really do have this thing for wild flowers.

And there was light.

Lower South Falls from the trail. Lots of kids out today, so I had to make this quick.

This is what I love about June, what’s left of winters runoff creates several “small” falls in the area.

 Double Falls.

I believe this was the Middle North Falls? Trails are practically manicured.

Stopped and snacked along the bank, where reflections always capture me.

Bridge. Just a random bridge.

Graffiti Creek. Why not?

Spawning Berries.

Lush, healthy banks.

 And number 221…

Big North Falls. I love the sound, the energy, the ferocity coming from this place.
