Some Things
I’ve been slacking of lately, and I apologize. However, I wanted to put this out there while it was still fresh on my mind. Lately, I’ve been working overtime with my birds. Working with them by means of filling feeders along with empty suet cages, with the occasional spread of shelled peanuts for the casual crows and savvy squirrels. Birding comes with bird books, and these two are my favorites. Stokes is a standby, while the second comes from an earlier era. This Golden Field Guide was given to me at a much younger age by my grandma, who recently passed away (Valentines Day). When I was around nine or ten, I remember her putting this down before I was off on another birding adventure. They had a nearby cattle pasture that served both birds and myself equally well.
I still smile whenever I pass by and glance at the inside cover. Some things rarely change.
What a sweet memory.
It’s a keeper!
